WHAT?

We have few issues with building GUI wallet... One of the most important is finding Windows and Linux (desktop version) machines to build this GUI wallet and test it out.

Y SO EXPENSIVE?

Finding machines is not the only issue, as mentioned earlier. We also lack time and personell to handle this in reasonable time after new Wownero version is released. All the donations for this proposal will be spent in

  • renting Windows machine (probably Azure or something),
  • renting Linux machine (not sure where yet),
  • paying out for other people's help if it will be needed,
  • making sure that machines are ready to build new versions as soon as new Wownero version is out.

The first part of funding will be spent for renting machines, the part with "paying out other people" might never happen, but better be safe than sorry... :)

bomb-on [op] 2018-07-03 10:49 Hey dsc!
Even though those machines could be used for "GUI development" itself, I'm not sure if "GUI developers" will use those. If GUI devs find any of it useful, they will get access, of course... My intention is just to have prepared environments for making new releases (binaries) of both CLI and GUI tools in few simple steps every time new version is out.
Testnet (including testnet pool) is something completely different and should not be mixed with this proposal!

dsc [admin] 2018-07-03 12:35 Alright, cool. I changed the title of the WFS. Personally I believe 100k WOW is quite a lot. Perhaps you could try 50k first - which currenty is around 300-500 dollars (?).
dsc [admin] 2018-07-02 21:44 Hey bomb-on, is this WFS to create a fund for GUI development? Or is it solely for renting VPS's for a pool, or a testnet pool? reply
